Description

Hi everybody! I found this font on a site that lists fonts used by The Smashing Pumpkins, but the name was changed by the person who uploaded it. Do any of you know its true name? Thanks in advance!

Gararond by Pierre Di Sciullo. According to Di Sciullo's Website (
http://www.quiresiste.com/projet.php?id_projet=55&lang=en&id_gabarit=0)
the font is a homage to Garamond. The only font family which he sells is the Minimum family (
http://www.quiresiste.com/projet.php?id_projet=100&lang=en&id_gabarit=0).
"In 1997, Monotype Typography joined Agfa to develop the Creative Alliance typeface library" (
http://www.historygraphicdesign.com/the-modernist-era/the-bauhaus-and-the-new-typography/984-agfa-monotype-corporation),
and some have claimed that Gararond was included in this Creative Alliance library (
http://fontid.co/1492/this-is-the-skys-font-in-monster-of-men),
which may explain how it ended up on a Smashing Pumpkins CD. Additionally, an image of the full character set can be found on the Musée de l'imprimerie de Lyon's website:

Suggested Font: GARAROND

GARAROND, by the designer Pierre di Sciullo was a Creative Alliance Exclusive in the AGFA Monotype Creative Alliance Typeface Catalog published in 1997. di Sciullo designed GARAROND Light, Light Italic, Medium, Medium Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. He and his new font were also featured in several promotional booklets promoting the Creative Alliance, both before and after AGFA’s merging with Monotype,
